The impact of climate change on public health is multiple: through thermal stress caused by heat waves (with an amplification effect resulting from the decrease in air quality), intensified allergies during the longer growing season, epidemics and pandemics caused by changes in the habitat of vectors pathogens (mosquitoes for meningitis West Nile, birds). Droughts related to the impact of climate change affect food security, but also contribute to declining water quality. Floods, in addition to the direct effect, can facilitate the transmission of some diseases through water. Amplified effects of climate change occur in large urban agglomerations.
