Public education and awareness is a key component in responding to today's complex societal and environmental challenges related to climate change, especially in terms of acceptance of adaptation measures and engagement in their implementation. It is essential to consolidate education, both formal and informal, regarding climate change, both for increasing the level of information of the population, but also for the integration of environmentally friendly behaviors and a sustainable lifestyle. Academia has a critical role to play in accelerating adaptation to climate change and increasing societal resilience. Scientific research and innovation are basic pillars of adaptation to climate change, through information and technological progress and the development of innovative solutions to support the adaptation needs of communities at the local level.
